Look Out Pallywood, Hezbollywood. Here Comes Hollywood!

Nicole Kidman has been joined by 84 other major Hollywood stars in a special ad in Thursday's Los Angeles Times, according to the Herald Sun:
"We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas," the ad reads.

"If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die.

"We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs."
The list of those who joined Kidman is not too shabby either:

Michael Douglas, Dennis Hopper, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Danny De Vito, Don Johnson, James Woods, Kelly Preston, Patricia Heaton and William Hurt.

Directors Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Michael Mann, Dick Donner and Sam Raimi also signed their names.

Other Hollywood powerplayers supporting the ad included Sumner Redstone, the chairman and majority owner of Paramount Pictures, and billionaire mogul, Haim Saban.
According to YNet News, this is the result of efforts by the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles since the start of the fighting, and the consul general, Ehud Danoch, is still active:

Consul General Danoch is continuing with his PR activities, and on Wednesday night he briefed the heads of the William Morris agency on the recent events in Lebanon.
It will be interesting to see just what else Danoch can come up with.

Considering the general anti-Bush slant of Hollywood, to see actors come out in support of Israel is a welcome surprise.

It is nice to see support from anyone including high profile actors,- especially considering just how much notice the public take of what 'Hollywood stars' say and do.
